Why you must use social networking for your business

Do you make the best soap, that you sell on Etsy? Or do you have your own webshop in children’s clothing? Even if you are in the business of making websites or other services, it is advised to use social networks. Even if you think word of mouth will be enough.

First of all, you do not have to use social media all the time. Do not share everything, especially no private things if that does not fit your business. It is more important to be present. I am not saying you can just make an account and then you are there: I am saying that if you post something even just once a month, that could be truly beneficial to your company.

Is it legit?

And there are multiple reasons for it. For example, if I want to check if a business is legit, one of the things I will always do, is check if they are on social media. That way you can see how long they have been around on social media, and you have a good idea of what to expect, because they have probably shared a few pictures.

Then, if you might have a question, you can easily ask through direct messaging or maybe even publicly. That way you have a little bit more of a personal connection to a company, and it makes it easier to understand what this business is about. Especially when they answer in a swift manner, it shows dedication to their customers.

Please be aware of what your share though, cause if you post pictures of things that do not look as good as what is presented on your website, you could also be chasing away customers. You don’t want that, cause social media are not only a great way for a new customer to check if they’re interested in doing business with you: it is a great way to attract new customers. Use the same tags on Instagram with a few different ones sometimes, and someone might check out that tag one day and get inspired.

So, even if you are not too fond of social media, it would be good for your business to at least be on Facebook and Instagram, which are the biggest social media in the world. You won’t regret it!
