Twitter has just announced that it has hired Sarah Personette as new head of Twitter Client Solutions. Personette currently works for Refinery29 but she has had a long career at Facebook as VP of global marketing. She will be based in New York. So jealous! Uber also has some human resources news: Rebecca Messina is joining the company as Chief Marketing Officer.

Messina used to work for Coca-Cola for 22 years. She has had roles such as Senior Vice President of Marketing and Innovations for ventures. And she worked a few years at Beam Suntory. At Uber she will help on the marketing team, while the company is getting ready for going public. She will have an extremely important task, cause she needs to fix the bad image Uber currently has after co-founder Travis Kalanick left and after reports on a toxic working environment.

Merina said: “Joining Uber is a once in a lifetime opportunity and a true privilege. My focus has always been on three things: people, growth and brands. Uber checks all three boxes: a rapidly growing global business, with the opportunity to build an iconic brand alongside a team that’s committed to transforming the future of mobility. I couldn’t be more excited about what lies ahead.”

Personette will oversee the global regional TCS leaders at Twitter. It mainly means her and her team focus on getting big brands to do more with Twitter. Personette has a very fascinating resume, with not just Facebook on there, but also Build-A-Bear Workshop and Universal McCann Worldwide. She says: “Twitter creates the forum for people’s voices to be heard, and that is hugely meaningful for brands who want to make genuine connections. I look forward to working with the top marketers in the world to help them move consumers from inspiration to action.”
